Aegerter (6th) and disappointed, Mulhauser feels bad
An impressive start as always and impressive beginning of the race for Dominique Aegerter, Team Technomag-carXpert, who was lying second at one stage and eventually finished the Moto2 Grand Prix of Aragon in 6th position on the circuit of MotorLand in Alcañiz. Fighting for a podium for a long time, Aegerter had to fight like a lion towards the end of the race with a worn out rear tyre. The second rider of the Swiss team, Robin Mulhauser, was very close to achieving his best ever Grand Prix result of his career, as he was 17th for a long time before he lost his position in the final laps.
Dominique Aegerter (6th): "My start was good, I was quickly 2nd from 8th. Unfortunately I really struggled with my rear tyre at the end of the race; I tried everything to make up for this problem, I wanted the podium, but I wasn't able to push as hard as I wanted. Last lap was really hot, with Morbidelli and Kallio, whom I surprised at the end. This really wasn't an easy race for me; I chose the hardest tyres option, others chose softer one, however, I don't think that made the difference."
Robin Mulhauser (26th): "I feel bad because I was in 17th position until 5 laps to go. What happened? It is entirely my fault: I thought that there were one or two riders near behind me not more. And when the first one surprised me, another one took advantage of it; then when I tried to take a position back, others were there. I was trapped in a vicious circle; until that moment it was my best race ever but I'm very disappointed: I have to get a lot more aggressive and I've been asking myself if this coming winter I'm not going to take up a combat sport to prepare myself for the 2015 season."
