Aegerter eighth and disappointed, Mulhauser declared unfit to start

19.10.2014

The Australian Moto2 Grand Prix on the circuit of Phillip Island finished off with mixed emotions for the Team Technomag-carXpert. After difficult free practice sessions, Dominique Aegerter managed to climb up to 8th position at the end, finishing first in his group, however, far behind the race leader (more than 18 seconds). Having suffered two crashes in free practice and vision problems as a result, Robin Mulhauser decided not to take part in this race, which has been supported by the doctors. His objective is to relax before the next Grand Prix in Malaysia on Sunday.

Dominique Aegerter (8th): "I still haven't found enough confidence with the front of my bike and I am simply not able to use my regular riding style. Today I did not have any particular problems with the tyres, the lasted the race distance, but I was not able to ride faster. I still know how to fight the whole race distance to win positions but to keep up with the lap times of the fastest riders is more difficult. We will keep working and I am sure that we will eventually find a solution."

Robin Mulhauser (DNS): "We had a long discussion with my team manager Frédéric Corminboeuf last night and this morning. Australian doctors also suggested that it is a good idea not to ride. It is certainly not easy to find myself in this situation, but I do believe that it was the right decision. I watched the race from the fourth corner. I am still feeling dizzy, but my condition has improved compared to yesterday. I will rest as much as I can and on Friday I will be back to learn the Sepang circuit in Malaysia."
